8/5/2008Are You Sick of DigitalPoint Forums?

This is an example of very aggressive marketing, one forum advertising on another competitor forum using AdSense.

Now lot of people would think its unethical. I have seen many different forms of marketing starting from business cards to thongs.This one is sort of on the extreme side where the ad text is saying "Sick of DigitalPoint?" and the ad is right on Digitalpoint.

Haha, that's just priceless. I suppose it is a very good way of targeting exactly the type of user you want for your site...but still, I think it's a bit cheeky!

I thnk it's a waste of PPC money to try to get DP members because it's so easy to lead them off DP to your site just by posting helpful comments and having your site in your signature.

I am not sure but I think the ad title is just doing some reverse psychology. Otherwise, DP will not allow it.

I remember doing almost the same thing for Entrecard where I made a post entitled "Why you should leave Entrecard". It had decent number of comments for awhile.
